6 Reasons Why WordPress is the Best Blogging Platform

WordPress is easily the most popular blogging platform around the world. Everything offered by WordPress completely outclasses the other blogging platforms available. In fact, I love using WordPress on all of my blogs and I personally consider it to be the best blogging platform available today. Not only is it great for beginning bloggers, it’s also amazing for seasoned blogging veterans.

6 Reasons why WordPress is the best blogging platform

If you’re thinking about starting your first blog, or if you’re not happy with your current blogging platform, you should seriously think about giving WordPress a shot. Using WordPress will make blogging much easier and more rewarding for you. Read on to see the top 6 reasons why WordPress is the best blogging platform.

1) User Friendly

WordPress is all about being as user friendly as possible. Everyone should be able to start their own blog and WordPress is an amazing tool that gives even the most technically challenged person a platform to voice their opinions. You don’t need to know HTML, CSS, or Java in order to create a nice looking WordPress blog.

The admin tools that come with WordPress make it super easy to set things up. You shouldn’t have any troubles figuring things out even if it’s your first blog. Everything is spelled out in easy to read terms rather than technical jargon that might confuse most people. This kind of user friendly experience is just one of the reasons why WordPress is the best blogging platform.

2) Customization

WordPress is hands down the best blogging platform when it comes to customization. There are thousands of different themes and plugins to choose from in order to create your ideal blog. The best part is that most of these WordPress plugins and themes are completely free but there are some premium options that can offer you even more. One of my favorite premium plugins is CommentLuv which can help you create a better community on your blog.

3) Freedom

WordPress gives you a huge amount of freedom which is one of the biggest reasons I would consider it to be the best blogging platform. A WordPress blog is self-hosted as opposed to a free host such as Blogspot. By being self-hosted, you’ll have much more freedom in being able to choose what you want to do with your blog.

WordPress is an open source project being developed by hundreds of different people all across the globe. This makes it completely free for anyone to use and modify to fit your needs. Being an open source project completely sets WordPress apart as the best blogging platform.

4) Customer Support

WordPress is pretty straightforward and easy to use but there will probably come a time when you have some questions. If you do have a question, the WordPress Support Forum will most likely have the answer for you. If you can’t find the answer on the official forums, a quick Google search can help you out because there’s many sites such as this one that can offer tips and guides on WordPress.

5) SEO

SEO, or Search Engine Optimization is made easy with WordPress. Out of the box, WordPress is easily the best blogging platform for being extremely SEO friendly. You can further enhance your WordPress SEO through the use of plugins. The best plugin for SEO is WordPress SEO by Yoast because it makes optimizing your blog very simple.

6) Monetization

There’s nothing stopping you from monetizing your blog however you like when you’re using WordPress. Most themes and plugins have built in support for displaying ads in order for you to make money blogging. This is very important to me and many other bloggers around the world. We work hard on creating our blogs so it’s nice to get compensated for it.

  1. I personally think WordPress is by far the best blogging software I have ever used. I agree that it is very user-friendly, plus there are endless plugins and a lot of customizations. I use WordPress for personal and work, which it is how I start making a website for my dad’s business. It runs very smooth and the interface is so much easy to start the web page. I would recommend for those who want to get started on making a quick website.

  2. Absolutely right. I agree with you that it has better user friendly features. I’ve use blogger but I think I prefer wordpress because it is easy to navigate through it.

  3. I think I’m confused. I was told that was free but allowed no advertising. has costs associated with it but allows advertising. Is my source misguided (my best friend)? If not, how difficult is it to move from one to the other when I’m ready to monitize? I’ll have to be honest, I’ve considered Blogger but have heard some not so nice things about it, including lots of down time. WordPress sounds much better, I’m just concerned with moving from one site to another and losing traffic when I do.

  4. Just like mackit, I’ve also heard somewhere (can’t remember the source) that you couldn’t put ads on WordPress blogs. Ads are the way to monetize a website, right? So how does that work out. I’m a bit confused here!

Other than that, WordPress really does look like the best blogging tool. The customization options are what appeal to me, because once I tried to switch a layout on blogger and it was so frustrating.

  5. Spot on with the write up! Word press is very good. When I first started my website I wasn’t sure I would be able to figure everything out. But with the use of word press I got everything done efficiently and with ease.
